Funding Categories

Select one of the following six categories for your project:

1. GENERAL OPERATING SUPPORT
Purpose   This category of support is designed to assist with general operating, artistic, technical, performance and administra- tive costs and is available to non-profit organizations only.
Eligibility   Meet the General Eligibility Criteria on Page 2; have as it’s primary purpose the production or presentation of art; must have been in operation as a private or public non- profit organization for a minimum of two years and must have a demonstrated history of presenting/producing.
Award Amount   Not to exceed $10,000 per fiscal year.
Deadline   August 31st
     
2. PROJECT SUPPORT
Purpose   Project Support is designed to assist with art programming.
Eligibility   Individuals, non-profit arts organizations, service organizations, schools and units of government which meet the General Eligibility Criteria on Page 2.
Award Amount   Not to exceed $5,000 per fiscal year.
Deadline   August 31st
     
3. ARTS IN EDUCATION (AIE)
Purpose   The AIE program provides technical, financial and project support for education based, in and after school programs.
Eligibility  

Individual artists, schools, non-profit arts organizations, service organizations, professional associations and churches are eligible for AIE funding.

Technical assistance with developing and implementing meaningful, co-curricular or extra-curricular activities is available to artists and teachers.

A letter of endorsement from the Principal of the school in which the project will take place is required at time of grant application.

Award Amount   Not to exceed $3,000 per fiscal year.
Deadline   August 31st
     
4. ARTS IN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES
Purpose   This category of funding is designed to improve planning, presentation, professional development and collaborations for individual artists and new/emerging arts organizations.
Eligibility   Must meet the General Eligibility Criteria on Page 2. First time applicants are encouraged to apply in this category.
Award Amount   Not to exceed $3,000 per fiscal year.
Deadline   August 31st
     
5. TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
Purpose   Funding in this category is available (on a very limited basis), to provide professional development for individual artists and non-profit arts organizations to assist with travel and/or registration to attend conferences and workshops; for management consulting and grant writing.
Eligibility   Must meet the General Eligibility Criteria on Page 2
NOTE: Supporting materials i.e., conference or meeting Registration/brochure, etc., must be included with grant application.
Award Amount   Not to exceed $1,000 per fiscal year.
Deadline   August 31st and January 31st
     
6. MINI GRANTS
Purpose   Mini grants provides assistance to individual artists and non-profit arts organizations for a wide assortment of art related activities. Funding decisions in this category are based on the artistic merit of the project and the applicant’s ability to carry out the project.
Eligibility   Meet the General Eligibility Criteria on Page 2
Award Amount   Not to exceed $1,000 per fiscal year.
Deadline   January 31st - Funds must be expended by August 1st.
